A Prayer For Autism

My precious Lord, please hear my prayer,

I ask just a moment, with you to share.

You've always told me, I could come to You,

So I'll keep it brief, you've so much to do.

 We're all unique in our own special way,

You make no mistakes, turn no one away.

So I must have faith, there's a reason why,

Autism exists, though at times I cry.

It's a special world where Autism lives,

when it's understood, it doesn't take, it gives.

 Such strength and courage, from the heart of a child

embraces a wisdom with understanding restyled.

There are times when I pray that cure will be found,

with a need for this healing, so sure and profound.

With a touch of Your hand, this affliction would fade,

and we'd no longer need it's special crusade.

It's not ours to question, only You know why,

my faith is replenished through the source You supply.

So if it's not in Your plan, this cure that we seek,

then a much greater gift must be in store for me.
