For Paul

The disability you had, twisted and cruel,
It took away your intelligence though you were no fool.
You found it hard to talk and had trouble to walk,
You had a hard time to eat,Yet would not be beat.

The hospital visits, you hated them all,
You wanted to be normal again, go out and play ball.
The needles and tests, discomfort and pain,
Were all your battles, fought in vain?

An illness very rare, we didn't hear of it before,
Each day we hoped for a cure, prayed more and more.
You carried on with life, didn't moan or complain,
Even all the while, your were in such agony and pain.

You showed us true love, with your courage and strength,
To live life to the fullest you went to great lengths.
Your fight ended, one sunday afternoon,
We hope for the rest of us, a cure will come soon.
