Welcome to Our Special Kids! formally Living with AUTISM and ADHD
A place to learn how autism and adhd can touch your life!

Having a child diagnosed with autism or add/adhd isn't the end of the world..... just the beginning of a new one!

This site is dedicated to my children. "I love you"
Hi! My name is Lisa and I'm a
mother of 13 yr old boy/girl twins. Unfortunately I'm just one of an alarming number of mothers of an autistic child in this small Texas town.
When Matthew was first diagnosed at around 3 1/2 years of age I knew of no other mothers in this situation. Except for the wonderful help of my son's behavior consultant I was left alone to find my way through this difficult time.
That is the reason I decided to make this site! So in July of 2000 I started researching, trying to decide what I wanted to put here, what would be of help to others. On November 21st, 2000 I opened my site. I hope to offer both support and information to other parents and caregivers of children in the autism spectrum and/or ADD/ADHD. If I can give that to anyone then I have have succeeded in what I set out to do.
Please feel free to take a look around my site, there is a lot of really good information as well as personal stories about my own children and a few others. If there is something you can't find here or you just need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to email me. I WILL answer as soon as I get the message!
(I'm having trouble with the email, there's a message on the sitemap about
emailing me)
I'm glad you came to visit my site and I hope you enjoy your stay!
Please don't forget to sign my guestbook, I love hearing what you think of my site! (You can find the guestbook on the next page) I've done away with the message board and started a Yahoo Groups instead. I think it may be more comfortable for everyone since you have to be a member to read the posts. I hope you will join, it would be a great way for all of us to come together for support! (You can join at the bottom of this page.)

Be sure to check out my adoption page!
